- Cesar Chavez |
Cesar Chavez is the child clone of Mexican-American civil rights leader, Cesario Estrada Chavez. He is the little foster brother of Abe Lincoln and second-adopted foster child of Abe's Foster Mom and Abe's Foster Dad. He was initially set to appear in "Raisin the Stakes: A Rock Opera in Three Acts" but his scene was ultimately cut for unknown reasons.
Biography[]
A scrapped joke from "Raisin the Stakes: A Rock Opera in Three Acts" would have seen Abe's Foster Dad scolding Abe for smoking raisins and asking why he can't be more like his little foster brother, Cesar Chavez. It would then be revealed that Abe has a little foster brother as Cesar Chavez would show up and exclaim "Uvas no!", which is Spanish for "No grapes!", revealing him to him being anti-raisins. This is also a reference to his clonefather leading a boycott against grapes during the Delano grape strike.
Trivia[]
- Cesar Chavez being against smoking raisins is a direct reference to the Delano Grape Strike of 1965, where the real Cesar Chavez led a boycott against grapes until agricultural workers of the Agricultural Workers Organizing Committee (AWOC) got better pay and treatment.
- Although his exact age is ambiguous, Cesar Chavez is portrayed as a child who is far younger than the other clones in the series, all of whom are high schoolers around 15-16. This makes him the first known child clone in the series and the first clone to be born sometime after 1987.
- The original scripts with Cesar Chavez kept referring to him as "Lil' Cesar Chavez", which might have been a malapropism on the pizza company, Little Caesar's.
