Clone High is a reboot/revival of the original series of the same name. The reboot premiered on Max on May 23, 2023 and ended on February 1st, 2024.

On July 26th, it was announced that the revival had been cancelled, ending the reboot with 2 seasons, giving the franchise 3 seasons. [1]

Production[]

It was announced in July 2020 that the reboot had been picked up by Max for two new seasons,[1] and it was later announced that the show would premiere on May 23, 2023, in a Twitter post by Christopher Miller, with it also showing how the clones will be unfrozen, picking up right from the ending of "Changes: The Big Prom: The Sex Romp: The Season Finale".[2]

Premise[]

After 20 years of being frozen, the clones are all finally defrosted by Principal Scudworth and integrated back into the school system of Clone High High School, along with an entire second generation of clones he had made during their time in the freezer. This gives all the clones severe culture shock as they try to cope with the modern-day world of 2023 after suffering from severe chronological jet lag. As for the students themselves, Abe Lincoln now pines over Joan of Arc but is unfortunately sidelined by her in favor of her new boyfriend, JFK. Joan becomes friends with the new clones, Harriet Tubman and Frida Kahlo, who Cleopatra hates for being more popular than her, while Abe becomes friends with Confucius and the highly problematic Topher Bus. Meanwhile, The Secret Board of Shadowy Figures enlists Candide Sampson to take over as superintendent of Clone High High School, much to Scudworth's chagrin.

Characters[]

Main Cast[]

  • First Generation
    • Abe Lincoln: The clone of American president, Abraham Lincoln who has been defrosted after 20 years in the freezer. Abe has trouble coping with lies in 2023, not knowing how to behave in modern-day society, which often leads to him embarrassing himself and getting into lots of trouble. He is in love with Joan of Arc but is unfortunately being sidelined, as she's dating the much hotter and stronger JFK. Abe constantly seeks out advice from some of the worst sources possible, such as his new friends, Confucius and Topher Bus, which only makes things worse for him. Voiced by Will Forte.
    • Joan of Arc: The clone of French revolutionist, Jeanne D'arc. Joan is a depressed and nihilistic goth girl with an interest in making avant-garde black-and-white films. She quickly becomes very popular in the year 2023, having instant friendships with Harriet Tubman and Frida Kahlo. However, she struggles to maintain their respect, as she finds many of their behavior ridiculous and worries that calling them out of their antics would get her in trouble. Voiced by Nicole Sullivan.
    • Cleopatra: The clone of Egyptian queen, Cleopatra VII. Cleo comes to terms with the fact that she is no longer the prettiest and most popular girl in school, like she was back in 2003, and suffers to manipulate her way to the top of the social ladder again now that she's considered a normal person. She also comes to terms with her bisexuality and starts dating Frida Kahlo. Voiced by Mitra Jouhari.
    • JFK: The clone of American president, John F. Kennedy. JFK is the strong and handsome boyfriend of Joan of Arc, who no longer objectifies women anymore like he did back in 2003, and is now a more woke, sexually positive, and loyal boyfriend to Joan ... or is he? Voiced by Christopher Miller.
  • Second Generation
    • Harriet Tubman: The clone of African-American abolitionist, Araminta Ross. Harriet Tubman is a political activist, who strongly propagates a bunch of things she stands for, without really doing her research on what it is that she's supporting, leading to her messages coming across as very mixed, nonsensical, and sometimes counterproductive. She dreams of someday becoming a famous movie star. Voiced by Ayo Edebiri.
    • Frida Kahlo: The clone of Mexican painter Frida Kahlo. Frida Kahlo is an extremely chill, laid-back artist who has a passion for painting. She doesn't take life too seriously and is best friends with Harriet Tubman. Frida's unibrow seems to have a mind of its own and can sometimes come to life and move independently of her. Voiced by Vicci Martinez.
    • Confucius: The clone of Chinese philosopher Kong Qiu. Confucius is a FlipFlop influencer from a rich foster family who doesn't take life too seriously. He feels that being rich will allow him to do whatever he wants. Unlike his clone father, Confucius is very unwise, making him a constant source of misinformation. Voiced by Kelvin Yu.
    • Topher Bus: The clone of Italian explorer, Christopher Columbus. Due to his problematic history, Topher tries to distinguish himself from his clone father as much as possible. Topher Bus tries to be woke and progressive but fails to get any of the respect he sets out to gain. Eventually, this leads Topher to decide to quit being nice and instead be a proud asshole, who tells people how he really feels. He is also an internet troll, who says horrible things to people via flame wars. Voiced by Neil Casey.

Faculty[]

  • Principal Scudworth: A deluded, self-aggrandizing megalomaniac who always wears rubber dish gloves and has an annual psychological breakdown after which he attempts to kill John Stamos. Voiced by Phil Lord.
  • Mr. Butlertron: A robot who is programmed with a highly sensitive compassion protocol (a parody of Mr. Belvedere). Also known as Mr. B. He calls everyone "Wesley", a reference to the youngest son of Mr. Belvedere, Wesley Owens. Voiced by Christopher Miller.
  • Candide Sampson: The no-nonsense and impatient superintendent watches Principal Scudworth from her office above to keep him in check. She also has an obsession with lizards. Voiced by Christa Miller.
  • The Secret Board of Shadowy Figures: A secretive government organization that runs Operation: Spread Eagle and employs Candide Sampson to take it over, after 20 years of the plan being on ice, thanks to the buffoonery of Principal Scudworth.

Other Students[]

  • Sacagawea: The clone of the Native American explorer, Sacajawea. She is the current debate team member and the student court. She is very badass and dedicated to getting what she wants. She eventually becomes the girlfriend of George Washington Carver.
  • Kublai Khan: The clone of Mongolian tyrant, Setsen Khan. He is a strong, bearded, heavily tattooed badass who's described as "not the kind of guy your parents would approve of".
  • Ivan the Terrible: The clone of Russian czar, Ivan Vasilyevech IV. He's a hateful, misogynistic incel who has a burning hatred toward the female gender for not having sex with him.
  • Toussaint Louverture: The clone of Haitian war genera, Toussaint Louverture. He is a chivalrous and gentlemanly intellectual who brings an air of sophistication to the classroom and has a burning passion for romance and desire for Harriet Tubman.
  • Jackée the Ripper: The clone of unidentified English serial killer, Jack the Ripper. She is a homicidal maniac with a lust for blood and nail art, which has led to her becoming a social outcast and a proud member of the Bleacher Creatures.
  • Betsy Ross: The clone of American seamstress, Elizabeth Ross. She is a scholastically involved girl, who serves as a member of the Cheerleading Squad and the Prayer Pals.
