Cyranos is a startup company founded by Harriet Tubman. The company specializes in having Harriet feed people lines through earbuds to tell them what to say in difficult situations. The company was corrupt and it had to be shut down, among Harriet Tubman being chased away by the FBI. It appeared in "Cyranos: A Portmant-Opus".
Biography[]
In "Cyranos: A Portmant-Opus", Harriet Tubman told Frida about how she got a spur-of-the-moment idea to make a company after watching half of the movie, Cyrano and half of a documentary about Theranos. Harriet was so inspired to make a successful company like Elizabeth Holmes, that she didn't even bother watching the rest of the documentary and used inspiration from the Cyrano movie, to make "Cyranos".
Cyranos would be a company, where she would feed lines to people and tell them what to say, so that they can feign an alternate personality and trick other people into giving them something they don't deserve. In this episode's case, she would feed lines to Cleopatra, telling her what to say, how to dress, and how to act, so that she could impress Frida's foster father, Mr. Kim, into giving her his blessing to be Frida's girlfriend.
At the end of the episode, the FBI came to Harriet's house to arrest her for spreading lies, which gave her a similar fate to Elizabeth Holmes of Theranos. Harriet flushed all the evidence down her toilet and ran away, escaping her federal punishment.
Trivia[]
- As the name suggests, the company is a portmanteau between Cyrano de Bergerac, a play about the titular character telling a man what to say to his lover, and Theranos, a fraudulent organization run by pseudo-scientist, Elizabeth Holmes, who promised to give people immediate results for their blood tests.
