- Her last name, along with the last name of her husband, Dr. Jacques Neelankavil, have become a running joke in the writers' room, on account of how weird their last names sound, especially when put together. This joke has made it into a few episodes of Clone High.
- In "Raisin the Stakes: A Rock Opera in Three Acts", Gandhi got high and went on an acid trip, where he heard from Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, that there existed some kind of celestial deity called "The Great Rivinojaneelankavil", of whom Princess Gremulon was a royal descendant of.
- In "Saved by the Knoll", Joan was treated by a doctor named none other than Dr. Neelankavil, who could have been a caricature of Jacques Neelankavil, as he's a doctor in real life and bears resemblance to him.
- In "Grave Mistakes: The Virgin Homicides", Erica's signature can be seen in the List of Girls Who Are NOT Attracted to Abe.
