- JFK |
John Fitzgerald Kennedy (JFK) is a main character and on & off antagonist of Clone High. He is a clone of 35th President of the United States John F. Kennedy. He is a dumb meat-headed 1960's-era jock, who gets with tons of girls at Clone High High School and makes tons of sexual innuendo jokes. He is voiced by Christopher Miller.
Biography
JFK is shown to be one of the most popular students at Clone High. He is shown to be on the basketball team, the track team, and field team. He speaks with mannerisms which mainly consist of pausing mid-sentence to fill the gaps with the words "er" and "uh". Throughout the show, JFK is initially shown to have a dislike of Abe Lincoln, which grows into a rivalry after Abe wins Cleopatra's affection. He is mainly portrayed as self-obsessed and ignorant at times, but is shown to be quite smart, should the situation call for it. In most of his appearances, he is shown to be quite popular with women, being swarmed by several at a time.
Appearance
JFK is 6'0, and is usually seen in a red long sleeve polo shirt with a white stripe, tight khaki pants, brown loafers and socks. He has tall, full brown hair and a muscular physique. His eyes are slanted and are arc-shaped, but open to full circle shapes when he is shocked, excited or infuriated.
In the early development of the show, JFK's original appearance was more proportional, and appeared as a near direct caricature of the real John F. Kennedy. He wore the same outfit from his original character design in the TV series.
Personality
JFK is portrayed as a stereotypical 1960's jock. He is self-centered, air-headed, vain, arrogant, competitive, short-tempered and is primarily led by the number one driving ambition of having sex with multiple different women, (who he generally refers to as "broads"), namely his girlfriend, Cleopatra. However, JFK is not a monogamous man, as he cheats on his girlfriends all the time and hypocritically gets mad at said girls if they ever cheat on him, as seen in "Escape to Beer Mountain: A Rope of Sand", when he was mad at Cleo for making out with Abe, while he was having sex with another girl on his dinghy boat.
JFK is an athletic teenager, participating in several different sports teams at the school, such as basketball and track. His habit of working out has given him a muscular body with abs so firm you could grate cheese on them. JFK has a juvenile sense of humor, telling several sexual jokes and laughing at the use of words that could potentially be seen as double-entendres, such as "hard", "bone", "nail", etc.
Despite JFK's antagonistic (and often foolish) behavior, he has more of a sensitive nice side, which he tries to hide. He has cried out loud after his friend Ponce died in "Litter Kills: Litterally", for example. He also gave Joan a genuinely impassioned speech about how great a person she was in "Changes: The Big Prom: The Sex Romp: The Season Finale", although many people also interpret this as him just trying to woo her into sleeping with him.
JFK's archetype is based on jocks from the historical era, wherein his clonefather was president. His vocabulary is full of 1960's slang, such as using the terms "broad" and "betty" to refer to women, or using terms like "chowderhead" to insult people he doesn't like. He tends to give people nicknames, such as "hotshot", "shorty", "shrimptail", "pipsqueak", "pretty boy", etc. This is also reflected in his attire, as he wears outdated clothes and a hairstyle that was popular back in that era.
Starting with "Bible Humpers: A Much Needed Praycation", JFK started to come to terms with how his life of constant meaningless sex was just so monotonous and empty to him. He felt a void in his life that could only be filled by God. JFK joined the Prayer Pals and became a devout Christian. JFK also took a vow of celibacy and wore a Purity Ring to signify his newfound life of chastity. From then on, JFK stopped being a non-stop sex machine and started being an upstanding holy Christian, who would regularly recite bible verses and tell people stories from the biblical times to help them in times of need. He was also a generous and giving person who would help out with certain charities doing things like, building houses, cleaning up litter, and cleaning orphans who were covered in oil from the wreckage of an oil tanker.
Trivia
- JFK, Abe, and Gandhi are the three main male characters, whose clone fathers were all assassinated.
- Aged up versions of JFK and Abe briefly appear in a “Clone College” poster in the background of Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.
- JFK's appearance in early concept art for the show was far closer to the real Kennedy's appearance, but was changed for a more exaggerated and simplified look.
- JFK has a tattoo of him and Ponce De Leon, as shown in "Litter Kills: Litterally", which was never seen before, or at any time after this point (much like Ponce himself).
- The infamous quote of JFK proclaiming "Nothing bad ever happens to the Kennedys" just before his car flips over is a reference to the Kennedy curse, a supposed curse on the Kennedy family that has seemingly led to several of its members being killed, horribly injured or left in other negative situations.
- He references the curse again in Litter Kills: Litterally when he mentions to Abe how he, as a Kennedy, isn't "accustomed to tragedy". Clearly, Abe is unaware of the curse, and its implications by the media in relation to his clone father's tragic fate.
- JFK will sometimes say "Bobby!" when he is hit, a reference to the real JFK's brother, Robert F. Kennedy, a U.S. senator who was assassinated in 1968, as he was on his way to being elected president. RFK himself, however, doesn't appear in the series, and isn't ever mentioned, aside from JFK's exclamations of pain.
- In late 2020, he became a meme on the app TikTok because of his accent and personality.
- JFK's sketch model is used in most other Season 2 model sheets as a height and size reference for other characters or objects.
