Spring Broken is the seventh episode of Season Two of Clone High, and the 20th episode of the overall series.
Synopsis[]
After the clones find themselves stranded in the desert, JFK experiences a heat-induced intellectual breakthrough, Abe faces a zombie horde, and Scudworth and Mr. B hit the big time in Vegas.
Plot[]
During spring break, the clones embark on a trip to Arroyo Fest. However, their plans take an unexpected turn when their bus breaks down in the scorching desert. Stranded under the relentless heat, tensions rise among the group, exacerbated by the presence of a cannibal horde.
Cleo and Frida begin to bond over their shared admiration for pop musician Mila Brulee.
As the desert heat intensifies, JFK undergoes a remarkable transformation. His brain expands, granting him intelligence, emotional maturity, and an accent that pronounces Rs with refinement. In a moment of lucidity, JFK acknowledges that Joan deserves someone better and encourages her to break up with him before his newfound state fades.
Meanwhile, Principal Scudworth and Butlertron also experience hallucinations, mistaking the desert for Las Vegas.
Joan attempts to create a makeshift distress signal using shrimp, but with JFK's enhanced intelligence, they switch to rocks and sticks to communicate via Morse code, hoping for rescue. After their wild Vegas hallucination, Scudworth and Butlertron wake up in the desert, believing their adventure was a mere heat-induced illusion. However, at Arroyo Fest, they are surprised when pop singer Mila Brunée performs a cover of a song that Butlertron composed during their accidental DJ stint.
Confucius adopts a false online persona and catfishes Harriet. When Harriet discovers the deception, Confucius, feeling guilty, comforts her by reminding her of all the exciting things she has posted on social media. Harriet eventually realizes that Confucius was behind the online charade. In a heartwarming moment, she shows her support by giving him a heart on one of his posts, even though he expresses disappointment at the lack of online recognition in his absence.
As JFK's temporary intelligence and sensitivity wane, Joan finds herself surprisingly attracted to his altered state, appreciating his depth beyond his usual behavior. She becomes possessive and demanding, insisting that the others help her maintain JFK's heat-induced persona. However, her disappointment ensues when JFK starts reverting to his regular self. Smart JFK realizes that Joan needs emotional support as well as a sexual connection. He gives his consent for her to end their relationship, acknowledging that he would never do it to her.
